The World's Largest Camera

In 2006, the Legacy Project created the world's largest camera. The project saw an airplane hanger in Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California, turned into a gigantic pinhole camera which measured 45 x 160 x 80 ft and produced a 31.6 x 111 ft black-and-white photograph. Six artists used 24,000 square feet of black plastic sheeting, 1,300 gallons of foam gap filler, 40 cans of black spray paint and 1.52 miles worth of black tape to entirely seal out any light from the space.
