Greenpeace and the Big Fish Fight Continues

With the excellent work of both Channel 4 and the big fish fight campaign with Heston Blumenthal, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey and Hugh Fernley-Whittingstal. It was admirable to see their hard work and passionate drive to preserve our oceans resources and also very inspiring to see such prominent figures of the food and chef industry getting involved in an ongoing preservation campaign to protect the world’s oceans and the endangered and threatened fish and ocean species that are needlessly caught through harmful fishing methods. I commend their efforts and hope that there action is as inspiriting for the viewers of this program as it was for me. I would like to say that these four chefs and the broadcasting work of Channel 4 is not ‘a lone voice in the wilderness’, there are others out there working hard to protect the life of the oceans and its inhabitants. The campaign for the preservation of our oceans is a continuous one.

Since this Program aired Greenpeace, have set up a new campaign involving the unlawful fishing methods being carried out by Princes to catch their tuna. The Greenpeace campaign urges us the consumer to demand that Princes change its methods and permanently stops fishing endangered species of tune in protected waters. There is a “Tuna league table” for you to have a look at the ranking of your favorite brand of tuna and to highlight the severity of the problem involving Princes. I would recommend readers take part in this campaign, send your letter to Princes and read up on following articles of this campaign and the activities of Princes. Protect our Oceans and the precious resources it holds. We as consumers have the power to make this change.
