“Myths, Monsters and Legends,” RANKIN Gallery
New project from Rankin and Damien Hirst culminating a quite impressive body of works adapting and fusing theie styles together. Enitled “Myths, Monsters and Legends,” the photographer and the artist with great effect create a series of monsters with an ancient appeal that characterisers both artists aesthetic. inspired by from model Dani Smith as they depict beasts and ethereal bodies based on the mystical era.
Exhibition opens on October 13 and runs until November 7 at RANKIN Gallery in Los Angeles.

– A Cover With Staying Power: The New York Times snags a sneak peek of Dasha Zhukova's new publication, Garage, and calls it "one of the most intriguing magazines to come along in years." The art-and-fashion glossy's debut boasts three different covers, including one by Damien Hirst featuring a peel-slowly-and-see sticker of a green butterfly covering a female model's crotch. Removing the sticker then reveals a butterfly tattoo by the artist in a delicate place. Did we mention that Shala Monroque, the girlfriend of Hirst dealer Larry Gagosian, is the creative director of the magazine? [NYT]

Damien Hirst for Red Hot Chili Peppers
Iconic British artist Damien Hirst has been commissioned by LA rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers to produce the artwork for their tenth studio album "I'm With You". Hirst's love of pharmaceuticals with a fly standing on top of a hard-shelled medicine capsule that has I'M WITH YOU printed on the side. Album release on 30 August, 2011 Warner Bros. Records 14 new tracks, produced by Rick Rubin.
